  • How to clear iPhone cache

    After using your iPhone for awhile, you probably noticed that your phone isn’t working as fast as it was when you first bought it. It’s lagging a little, isn’t refreshing as quickly - well, you don’t need to take it to get fixed, it’s actually a really easy problem to solve. Many people simply don’t understand why their phones are slowing down after some time. However, once you understand why they slow down, you’ll be able to fix it quickly.

    Why is your iPhone lagging? Well, the answer could be that your cached files are using more space than you thought. To solve this problem, all you need to do is clear your phone’s memory and cached data. This will get your phone working back up to its normal speed.

    If you’re not sure what cached files are, we’ll explain. Cached files are found on many iPhone applications; they store information on what you’re doing. Now, this is fine, however, they do take up storage space on your iPhone which is the problem. So, once you delete cached files from your phone, it automatically works faster.

    So, now that you know why you’re iPhone is lagging, it’s time we teach you how to clear your cache data to get your iPhone back to tip-top shape.

    Clearing Safari Cache

    First thing you want to do is clean out the cache from your Safari browser. This is really easy to do. On your iPhone, you want to go to settings. Once you’re there, go to Safari and scroll down to the bottom of the page. You’ll want to choose “Clear History” and “Website data”. Then, confirm that you want to do this by tapping on “Clear History and Data of Safari”. Once you do that, your Safari cache data will be completely cleaned out. It’ll clean your history, cookies and browsing data. Essentially, your Safari will have no information on it.

    Clear App Cache Data

    Now, on the iPhone and iPad, there’s no option to specifically clean one app’s cache unless you uninstall the app from your iPhone completely. Now, some apps may offer this feature to clean the cache data. If you choose to uninstall the app, it’ll remove everything from your iPhone including cache data.

    So, the best way to clean your app’s cache data is to use a third-party app called the “Battery Doctor”. It’s a free app that allows you to clean your app’s caches data.

    So, go to your App store and search for the “Battery Doctor”. Once you have it downloaded, open it up on your iPhone, you’ll go through the introduction and then get taken to the home screen. From there, you’ll want to go to the folder that has your cached data which is the “Junk” tab. When you click the “Junk” tab you only need to tap on the “Clean Up Cache” button. A caution message will appear, you proceed and click “Clean”. When it’s finished cleaning, Battery Doctor will tell you how much it cleaned, what it cleaned, etc. So, you’ll be given a full report.

    Freeing up iPhone memory

    Using “Battery Doctor” you can also clean your iPhone’s memory. This will also help boost your iPhone’s speed since it slows down if it’s short on memory space. So, to do this you’ll want to click on the “Memory” tab. Tap on “Boost” and it’ll clean up your phone’s memory. At the end, when it’s finished, you’ll receive a full report of what was cleaned up and how memory space was freed. Note: you don’t want to clean your phone’s memory very often.

    Now that you know what to do, use these tools to help you clean up your iPhone and get it back to working like it used to. You can also buy a memory card to help store your data on an externally or use a cloud service. This will also allow you to delete photos, videos and files, so that your iPhone isn’t burdened with unused information. Knowing that your personal information is safe and secure will allow you to not leave all your personal information on your iPhone.

  • What to Do If Your iPhone Won't Charge

    Sometimes, when you’re going to charge your iPhone or iPad, you won’t always be able to get a charge going. Now, this could be for a variety of reasons, but regardless, it’s a pain when you have low battery and you need to get it charging. This isn’t an uncommon problem with Apple products, so, there are a variety of ways you can deal with this problem. Here are some helpful ways to get your iOS device charged.

    Plug into power

    Though you tried plugging it into the wall and you cannot seem to get a charge going, try to use other power sources. Not sure what we mean? You can try to use a USB power adapter instead which the USB cable that comes with your iOS device. If you’re using a USB cable that’s from a third-party, make sure that it’s Apple certified. Once that’s completed, you’ll want to try out these options.

    Connect your iOS device to the USB cable. Then, you have three power options in which you can use to power your iOS device.

    Wall Power Outlet

    Make sure that you try this as your first option. If it doesn’t work, it could be the power source itself, maybe your plug isn’t receiving electricity. Plug your charger cable into the USB wall adapter, then plug the adapter into the wall.


    This is another option for charging your iOS device. You can plug it into either a laptop or desktop as both have a USB cable outlet. Plug your USB charging cable into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on either your desktop or laptop. Make sure that your computer is on and not on sleep mode, if it’s on sleep mode, it won’t be able to charge your phone.

    Power Accessory

    You can also try to plug your cable into a powered USB hub, docking station or any other Apple-approved accessory.

    If your device is charging, you’ll see a lightning bolt in the battery icon. If you do not see the lightning bolt while your iOS device is plugged into a power source, then your iOS device is not charging.

    If Your iOS Device Doesn't Charge

    Now if you’ve tried these methods to charge your iOS device and nothing works, you’ll want to check out couple things out to find out what the problem is. If your iOS device is on low battery, you’ll notice that the battery icon will be red or your screen may just go completely black. If this happens try out these methods to fix this problem.

    • Check your charging cable and USB adapter. You’ll want to look for signs of damage such as breakage points or bent prongs. If you see any of this, your inability to charge your iOS device could be because of this. Do not continue to use any damaged accessories, instead, replace the cable or USB adapter.

    • If using a wall power outlet, check for a firm connection between the USB wall adapter, the wall outlet itself, and the charging cable. If possible, test the wall power outlet with other USB adapters and charging cables. This way, you’ll be able to rule out if it’s the wall power outlet itself.

    • Remember, if you’re using a non-Apple certified charging cable or adapter, this could be another reason as to why it’s not charging properly. Make sure you test your iOS device with an Apple-approved charger and cable. If it works with an Apple-approved cable/charger, then you know what the problem is.

    • Clean your iOS device charging port. It’ll be located at the bottom of your device where you plug in your charging cable. Check for any damage or debris. If you see debris, You can try to blow out the debris but if that doesn’t work, take it for cleaning. You don’t want to push the debris further into the iOS device.

    • After cleaning out the debris, if possible, try to charge your iOS device again.

    • If after all of this, your iOS device still is not functioning properly, then you should go to an Apple Retail store or an Apple authorized service provider for further assistance.

  • How to move from Android to iOS


    Many people think that transitioning from an Android to the iOS system is almost impossible or just annoying to try to do. But, it’s really not that difficult as you think it is. You can easily transfer all your contacts, photos, calendars and other personal information from your Android to your iPhone easily with Apple’s Move to iOS app. This is the first app that allows you to hook up your Android and Apple device together via Wi-Fi and transfer all your data in one sitting.16

    Though you should know that the Move to iOS app does transfer all your information and data, it doesn’t transfer your apps. So, you will have to re-download your apps once you move your information to your iPhone. In addition, you’ll only be able to transfer your data to an iPhone that runs iOS 9 or higher which includes iPhone SE and iPhone 6S.

    Now that you know everything this is to know about this app, it’s time we showed you how to use it properly so that you can easily and quickly transfer your data to your iPhone. Get your Android and iPhone out and ready, because we’re going to take you step-by-step on how to switch from your Android to iPhone/iPad.

    How to move your data from Android to iPhone or iPad

    Make sure you have both phones, Android and iPhone out and connected to Wi-Fi, this will make the process go quickly. On your iPhone, you’ll want to download the app “Move to iOS”. Once you have that set up on your iPhone, open the app. When you’re on the app, you’ll see a screen with the title “Apps & Data”. You’ll want to tap on “Move Data from Android”. Now, put your iPhone down and go to your Android. On your Android, go to the Google Play Store and search for “Move to iOS”. When you see the app, you’ll want to tap on it and click “install”. You’ll accept the permission request and tap “Open” after it’s installed.

    Now, you have both devices on the same page. Both devices will have the tab “continue” on the screen, you’re going to press “continue” on both devices. On your Android device, you’ll enter the 12-digit code that’ll be displayed on your iPhone/iPad. Once you enter the code, your Android will connect with your iPhone/iPad through the Wi-Fi connection. It’ll decide what information and data it’ll transfer to your iPhone/iPad.

    You’ll then be asked whether you want to transfer your Google Account information to your iPhone. In addition, it’ll transfer your Chrome bookmarks, texts, contacts, photos and videos that are on your phone. You have the option of selecting what you want to be transferred.

    Your Android will transfer the selected data to your iPhone and place everything in its proper place. Then, once finished, both devices will disconnect and your Android will take you to the Apple Store where they’ll show you where you can recycle your Android. Of course, you don’t have to recycle it, it’s completely up to you what you choose to do with your Android.

    Though everything is transferred to your iPhone, you’ll want to tap on “Continue Setting Up iPhone/iPad” where it’ll help you set up your Apple ID or allow you to log into your existing account. Once that’s complete, you’ll be able to log into any account you transferred from your Android to your iPhone. Once you do that, you’re done!

    Note: The transfer time truly depends on how much data and information you’ll be transferring. So, you can expect anywhere from a couple minutes to up to twenty minutes. If you’re having problems with the app, do contact or look up on Apple’s forums for further assistance. Though, we don’t think you’ll have a problem as this app is simple and straightforward.

  • How to Downgrade from iOS 11 to iOS 10.3.2 Without Losing Any Data

    Is new always better? While the conventional wisdom in technology is that it’s always better to update, you might have recently tried out iOS 11 and decided that it just isn’t for you. Sound like you? Well, we have some good news: you can actually downgrade back down to iOS 10.3.2 without any major hassles.

    You should note, however, that this solution won’t last forever. Once iOS 11 becomes the officially supported release in a couple of months, Apple will stop distributing old versions of iOS — which means that you won’t be able to downgrade unless you saved your SHSHS2 blobs. But don’t worry, you have time. Until then, you’ll be able to downgrade to iOS 10.3.2 with ease. What you’ll need is a Mac or Windows PC and a couple minutes. What’s even better is that you’ll be able to save your apps and data - it’s flawless! So, let’s get started.

    You have two well established methods for downgrading to iOS 10.3.2. You can either ‘update’ to iOS 10.3.2 or restore from an iCloud Backup. We’ll cover both in the sections below.

    Downgrade to iOS 10.3.2

    You’ll need to download the iOS 10.3.2 IPSW file for your device. This is a firmware file that’ll allow you to downgrade your operating system. Once you download the file, you’ll need to connect your Apple device to your computer using a lightning cable. Then, open iTunes, though it should open automatically.

    Once in iTunes, you’re going to click the phone icon that you’ll see on the top-left corner of the iTunes window. A window will open which will list, on the left-hand side, a variety of options. You’re going to select the Summary tab. If using a Mac, hold down the Option key on your keyboard. For Windows, hold down the Shift key. While holding down the key, at the same time click on ‘Check for Update’. A window will appear that’ll be a file browser. In this browser, search for IPSW file that you downloaded previously and when you find it, click Open.

    After a couple seconds, a window will pop up which will inform you that iTunes will install iOS 10.3.2. On your device tap Update on the pop up itself . It may take some time, to complete the process so make sure you won’t have to use your iPhone for at least 30 minutes.

    After the process is completed, your device will automatically reboot. Disconnect your device from the computer and follow the instructions on your device itself.

    If you’re using a beta profile (except the Golden Master), you’ll need to uninstall it. To do this, go into Settings on your Apple device and scroll down to find Profile. Then, select your beta profile and then tap on Delete Profile. This way, your device will not automatically install iOS 11 when it comes out in September.

    Restore from an iCloud Backup

    Your other option is to restore from an iCloud backup. This option should only done if your Apple device is bugging out after you’ve downgraded to 10.3.2. While this shouldn’t be something that occurs normally, it does happen on some rare occasions. Before starting, you should know that by using this method it will delete your existing apps and data, thus, you’ll have to reinstall those apps again.

    Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes to view if your data is backed properly. Then, you’ll want to disable Find My iPhone. To do this, go into Settings, tap on your name at the top of the screen and tap iCloud. Then you’re going to tap on Find my iPhone. Make sure that the toggle is switched off. Once these steps have been completed you should then re-download the IPSW file for your Apple device. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open iTunes
    2. Select “device” menu
    3. Select “summary” tab
    4. Hold the Option key (Mac) or shift key (PC)
    5. Click restore iPhone
    6. Open IPSW file
    7. Click restore to confirm

    Once that’s done, you’ll want to restore data from iCloud. That means that you’ll have to go through the initial setup, just as you would with method one. Select Set Up as New if you want to start from scratch or select Restore from iCloud Backup which will give you all your previously used apps and data. Voila! You’re back on iOS10. Enjoy!

  • Tips to Troubleshoot Your Bluetooth Problems Away

    You may have encountered some problems when trying to connect your iPhone to Bluetooth, but don’t worry, this happens to the best of us. You may be thinking you’ll have to take your phone to the repair shop, however, don’t go just yet. You have various solutions to fix this problem. But before you try to fix it, here are some things you need to check on your iPhone.

    Before trying to fix this problem, make sure you check these things:

    • Check to see if your Bluetooth is connected. To do this, go to settings and then Bluetooth.
    • Make sure you iPhone and the device you’re trying to pair it with are both charged.
    • Make sure your iPhone and Bluetooth device are close together.
    • If your Bluetooth device was paired with another device, you’ll want to disable the Bluetooth on it as it may be accidentally trying to connect with that device instead of the new one.

    Now that you checked all these things, if it’s still not working, try these methods below.

    Toggle Bluetooth

    This is the easiest thing you can do which will usually solve the problem. What you need to do is turn off your Bluetooth, wait for a couple seconds and turn it back on again. To do this, open your control center by swiping up the bottom of your screen, tap on the Bluetooth icon,  which will turn Bluetooth off and on. Then, wait to see if there’s a Bluetooth connection.


    Toggle Wi-Fi and Airplane Mode

    This is another easy way to fix your Bluetooth connection. What you need to do is open your control center on your iPhone by swiping your home screen from the bottom of the screen upwards.

    Once you’re on the control screen, tap on the Wi-Fi icon and turn it off. Then tap on it again to turn it on. Now, if it connects, great. If this doesn’t solve the problem, try to disable and enable Airplane mode. Go to your control center and tap on the Airplane icon. Leave Airplane mode on for a minute and then turn it back off by tapping the icon again.


    Restart your iPhone and your Bluetooth device

    Now, after all of this, restart your iPhone. To do this, you need to press and hold the sleep/wake button. An icon will appear that’ll say “slide to power off”, when that appears, drag the slider. When you’re iPhone is off, wait a couple seconds and then hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. It’s also a good idea if you restart your Bluetooth device as well.


    Hard reset

    If you’ve tried out all the methods above and nothing seems to work, you’re going to have to try a hard reset. To do this, press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time. Hold these two buttons down for at least 20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then go to settings and tap Bluetooth. Turn it off and then back on again.


    Forget the network device

    This is a common problem for iPhone devices, but by forgetting the device and pairing it up again may solve the problem. Here’s what you need to do. Go to settings and tap on Bluetooth. Then, you’ll see a list of Bluetooth devices. You’ll want to find the one that you cannot connect and tap on the info button (i). The tap “forget this device”. Now repair Bluetooth to your iPhone.


    Update the software

    Many people forget to update the software on their iPhones which is usually the problem of why it can’t connect. So, to update your software, you’ll want to make sure your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network and a power source. Then, go to settings, tap on general and then software update. Tap on Install now. Then, it’ll update the software. Try to restart your iPhone again and reconnect to Bluetooth.


    If none of these options work, then you should call Apple and see if there are some other methods you can use to try to connect Bluetooth to your iPhone. If all else fails, then it’s time to take your iPhone and Bluetooth device to a repair shop and get them to see what can be done.


  • What to Do When Your iPhone Won't Connect to Wi-Fi

    Having problems connecting to your Wi-Fi network? You’re not the only one. Unfortunately, iPhones are somewhat prone to issues when connecting to Wi-Fi networks that aren’t powered by routers that have been ‘Designed in Cupertino’, if you catch our drift.


    Luckily for you, we’ve compiled the techniques that work the best for troubleshooting a spotty wireless network. Just follow these steps in order to determine whether or not the issue is related to your device’s hardware.


    Turn Your Device’s Wi-Fi Off and On

    This should be your go-to move if you’re having connection issues. Before doing anything else, try to simply turn off and back on your Wi-Fi. To do so, swipe up from the bottom of your screen which will open the control center. Once there, you’ll want to tap on the Wi-Fi icon which will turn it off. Wait 10 seconds and then tap the icon again to reactivate your Wi-Fi. To access your Wi-Fi, you can also go to “Settings”, tap on “Wi-Fi” and then tap the switch beside “Wi-Fi”. If that doesn’t fix the issue then continue reading below.


    Turn off Your Bluetooth

    Your iPhone’s Bluetooth could be another reason as to why your Wi-Fi isn’t working properly. Believe it or not, Bluetooth can sometimes cause an interference with the Wi-Fi connection. So, to see if the problem is Bluetooth, you’ll want to deactivate it. To do so, swipe up from the bottom of your screen which will take you to Control Center. Once you’ve done that, Tap the Bluetooth icon and you’ll turn it off. You can also access this by going to Settings, tapping on General and then turning off your Bluetooth.


    Toggle Airplane Mode

    Come back from a trip, recently? Listen, we’ve all forgotten to turn off Airplane Mode — it’s really nothing to be ashamed of, really. If Airplane Mode is on, your phone won’t be able to connect to any network. But, if you turn this off, your problem will be immediately solved.

    To do so, you’ll want to go into Settings and turn Airplane mode on. Then, you’ll want to wait 3 seconds before turning it back on. Once you’ve done this, try to connect to your Wi-Fi network once again.


    Toggle Wi-Fi Assistant

    If you have iOS 10 installed on your iPhone, then you might know about the Wi-Fi Assist feature introduced in iOS 9. With this feature, you’ll be able to secure a stable internet connection in no time. What’s great about this feature is that even if you have Wi-Fi but the connection is slow, your device will automatically switch you to cellular. Wi-Fi Assist solves many of the Wi-Fi connection issues that are frequent in iPhones. To activate this feature, you’ll want to go to settings, then tap on Cellular. Scroll down the screen turn “Wi-Fi Assist” on and then back off.


    Restart Your iPhone

    Sometimes your phone just needs a reboot. To reboot completely, you’ll want to press and hold down the sleep/wake button. A “slide to power off” button will appear on the screen, slide it to turn off the phone. Wait a couple seconds, press and hold the sleep/wake button to turn your phone back on.


    Forget the Wi-Fi Network

    If you’re still having problems, try to forget the Wi-Fi network and connect to it again. Simply go to Settings, tap on Wi-Fi and then tap on the information button (i) that’s beside the network you’re currently connected to. Then press “forget this network” and confirm your action. Once that’s done, try to connect back to the network by pressing on it and entering the password.


    Check Your Router and Modem

    Sometimes the problem isn’t with your phone, it’s with your router and modem — so give it the ol’ restart! Unplug your router and modem and wait for 30 seconds. Plug them back in, wait a couple minutes and then try to reconnect to your Wi-Fi.

  • Messages Thet Keep Showing Unread? This is how you get rid of them!

    It’s normal for your iPhone to occasionally have a technical twitch, this is expected with any type of technology. Though, usually, it’s something that can be easily fixed or will even go away on its own. With the iPhone, sometimes, it’ll display that you have a message when you don’t. Your message app will display a “+1” which shows that you have an unread message in your app. However, when you open the app, you don’t have an unread message. Is this a big problem? Of course not, however, it is annoying to see that you have an unread message when you don’t. There could be a number of reasons as to why this is happening. When you know why then you’ll know how to fix it.


    Why your iPhone is showing that you have unread messages

    Sometimes, the reason isn’t so obvious. However, try looking at these options as to why your iPhone is displaying unread messages.

    • If you place your finger at the top of the screen a swipe down, it’ll display a list of unread messages, emails, texts and events. From there, you’ll be able to see if anything unread is being shown.
    • If you’re in a group message, you’ll have a number of recipients all in one SMS conversation. The “unread message” you’re being shown could be because there’s an unread message within the group message. In order to check, you’ll have to open each group message you have and scroll through to find the unread message within the group message.
    • Try to close your SMS app. You can easily do this by going to your task manager. By doing this, you can double click the home button where you’ll see a row of icons appear. One of those icons will be your SMS app which is a green colored app. Holder your finger down on the SMS app until a red minus appears. Select the red minus symbol and it will close the app for you. Then, go back to your home screen and re-launch the app. If the “unread” message doesn’t appear, you solved your problem.
    • Try sending an SMS to yourself. It could simply be a glitch in the system, so if you send yourself a message and open it, you may solve your problem by getting rid of the “+1” symbol.
    • Restart your iphone. If you hold the sleep/wake key with the home key for 10 seconds, you’ll be able to turn off your phone. Then, it’ll restart on its own.

    If your iPhone is displaying unread messages on your mail app

    Sometimes, your iPhone will show that you have unread emails on your mail app. Firstly, make sure by checking your mail that you don’t have any unread emails. To make sure you don’t, open your mail app and go into your inbox. Once there, you’ll want to select “edit” at the top-right of your screen and then select “Mark All” and then select “Mark as Unread”. This will ensure that you actually do not have any unread messages. If the mail app still shows you that you have unread messages, you’ll want to follow the steps below.

    In order to fix the unread mail count on your iPhone, you’ll want to go to settings. Once there, select “Mail, Contact, Calendars.” Then, select the mail account that is displaying unread messages. Once you selected the correct mail account, you’ll want to turn “Mail” to “off”. Once that’s completed, you’ll want to turn your iPhone. In order to do this, hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then slide the power off. Wait for 30 seconds before turning your iPhone back on. When you turn it back on, go to “Settings” and select “Mail, Contact, Calendar”. Then, select the respective mail account and turn “Mail” to “On”.

    Go back to your homepage and see if it’s still displaying unread messages. This should do the trick. If this didn’t work, you’ll want to contact Apple and get further assistance.

    This is usually fixable without needing the help of Apple, so, give this a try and hopefully it works for you!
