UDIDs aren’t as easy to find as they used to be. For those of you who might have had iPhones for a very long time, you would know that it was previously very simple to find the ‘Unique Device Identifier’ of your iDevice. Unfortunately, Apple has made it a little difficult to find the ‘UDID’ of the newly released iPhones such as iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS.

Earlier, you could find your iPhone’s UDID by connecting it to your Mac using ‘iTunes’ or by clicking a number of times on the ‘Serial Number’. However, Apple has changed it recently. You cannot find it that easily.

But, fear not. As we will be sharing two methods of finding your UDID on this post. So, if you’re ready. Then let’s get started.

Method 1:

Steps to Follow:

• At first, you need to connect your iPhone (unlocked) to your Mac via the lightning cable

• Now click on the ‘Apple logo/ ‘ from the top. Then click on the ‘About This Mac’ option

• From the new window, click on ‘System Report’ option

• And select the ‘USB’ option from the left sidebar

• From the main window, click on ‘iPhone’

• In doing so, you will find all the information about your iPhone. Among that information, you will find the ‘Serial Number’ Now, highlight and copy the value next to the ‘Serial Number’ option. You have to slightly modify this value to get your UDID

• So, paste the value somewhere and add a dash (-) after the 8th digit. Now, the format would look like this ‘XXXXXXXX–XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX’. This is the modification we were talking about (just adding a dash (-)

There you have it. You now know one of the methods of finding out the UDID for the iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS. Now, let's learn another method.

Method 2:

Steps to Follow:

You will need to have the latest version of Xcode on your Mac. Then…

• First, launch Xcode on your Mac

• Next, unlock your iPhone and connect it to your Mac via the lightning cable

• On Xcode, navigate to ‘Window’ and then select the ‘Devices and Simulators’ option

• From there, you have to click on the ‘Devices’ tab and you will find all the necessary information about your iPhone

• You have to look for the ‘Identifier’ The value next to the ‘Identifier’ is your UDID. So, you can then highlight the UDID and copy it or use it.

That's it. You have now learned the second method to find your iPhone’s UDID.
