Texting has gotten easier and easier over time. First there was the dark days of actually pushing the buttons on your keypad. Then came predictive texting, which I never figured out how to use. After that was the dawn of the digital keyboard, making it much more difficult to text without looking. And finally we got emoji in order to convey feelings and images quickly at the push of one button. And so, we no longer need actual words. And now, with Bitmoji, we need words less than ever. Let’s take a look at how to use Bitmoji for iOS devices.

What Is Bitmoji?

So you know what an emoji is. And you know what a bit is. Put it all together and you’ve got Bitmoji. Does that not explain it well enough? Fine, I’ll get into detail. Bitmoji is an interesting mix of full images and emojis. You use a character to represent yourself which will be used for all your “Bitmojis”, ranging in various moods and sequences. Does that explain it better? No? Well, I did my best.

How Do You Use Bitmoji?

Bitmoji is pretty simple to use. You begin by designing your character, choosing everything from hair color to jaw size. From there, you simply need to edit your keyboard settings and allow Bitmoji full access. After that, choosing your Bitmoji is as simply as tapping from the many available and pasting into the message bar. And presto! You’ve got yourself a brand new way to express your feelings. Or just have an image of yourself as the Mad Hatter. Either way.

Should You Download Bitmoji?

Bitmoji is definitely a fun app to play around with. It’s pretty enjoyable to be able to design your character and use it in emoticon form. Additionally, there’s no shortage of Bitmoji categories, with regular moods and sponsored sections alike. After all, who doesn’t want to see what they’d look like as Wolverine from the X-Men?
