How To Use Voice Memos On iOS

If you’re like me, you can’t remember anything. Be it birthdays, due dates, or people's names, remembering is not one of my best qualities. In fact, I don’t really remember what I was supposed to be writing about. Was I reviewing shoehorns? Ah yes, I was telling you how to use Voice Memos on your iOS device. Because taking notes on a plain old notepad might not help you remember essential details, you may want to try a more audio-ific approach. (Is that a word?) So let’s take a look at how to use Voice Memos on your iOS device.

1

The Basics

Start out by opening up the “Extras” folder on your iOS device. There, you will see options such as “Tips”, Find Friends”, and plenty of other applications I have never opened. And never will. Anyways, Voice Memos is an application I’ve been meaning to try out. It’s as simple as hit the application, hit record, hit stop when you’re one, and you’ve got yourself a voice memo. Additionally, you can write down a name for the memo such as “Reminder” or “Reminder 2”. Or a name you’ve actually put thought into.

What Other Uses Does It Have?

While the main focus of voice memos may be, well, as voice memos, there’s actually another great usage for the app: practicing podcasting and speaking. With the ability to trim down and edit your recordings, you can try out your on-air personality before you ever hit the airwaves. Just don’t be too freaked out at what you voice sounds like. Everybody has that reaction.

Should You Use Voice Memos?

I truly believe Voice Memos for iOS devices to be a great app for productivity and memory. Additionally, it’s a great way to play around with your voice for speeches, podcasts, or even practicing singing the B-52’s greatest hits. Everyone should do that.
