One Billion iPhones Have Been Sold

Apple is definitely one of those names synonymous with making money. After all, have you ever walked into the Apple Store? Not a lot of โ€œEverything Must Go! Low Low Prices!โ€ sales going on. But people still flock to the extremely clean glass stores and bring home handfuls of new iPhones. Or at last itโ€™s a handful if you bought the huge new iPhone Plus. Heyo! Well, this popularity has led to a pretty interesting milestone as there have now been over a billion iPhones sold. Letโ€™s talk about it a bit, shall we?

How Did iPhones Get So Popular?

I know I probably shouldnโ€™t question the mighty Apple corporation. In fact, just typing this Iโ€™m worried that a group of Genius Bar employees will come to my house and beat me up. I certainly hope not. One major reason the iPhone is so huge is, simply put, the fact that it was the first of its kind. Before the iPhone came along, the closest thing we had to todayโ€™s smartphones was Blackberrys. And now, iPhone has rocketed itself to a billion sales in under ten years. Not too shabby.

Will The iPhone Keep Being So Popular?

Now, Iโ€™m no fancy big-city phone analytics manager. In fact, Iโ€™m not a fancy big city anything. Or even a small town girl. Living in a lonely world. However, itโ€™s impossible not to see how iPhone has become the โ€œofficial brand nameโ€ of smartphones. Kind of like how Kleenex is the first brand that comes to mind when you think about tissues. And frankly I donโ€™t think Kleenex is in any danger of being taken over by Bobโ€™s Tissues. Or whatever the second most popular brand is.

One Billion And Counting

Now, I know that I said theyโ€™ve sold a billion iPhones so far in the title. But the fact is theyโ€™ve more than likely sold OVER a billion iPhones so far. In the time it takes me to type this sentence, Iโ€™m pretty sure somebody just bought three hundred backup iPhones for when their screen inevitably breaks.
