Is SnapChat Coming To Windows Phones

Is SnapChat Coming To Windows Phones?

Something I’ve talked about quite a bit in my articles is the lack of popular apps on the Windows Store. Don’t get me wrong, you can get a good amount of the essentials, such as Facebook and Twitter. However, there is a noticeable lack of some of the major entertainment apps. I wrote recently about how Pokemon Go would be a huge step towards getting more major apps on the Windows store. And, since I wrote that article, every single app has gone to the Windows store. OK, not really. My influence isn’t that strong. Yet. However, it looks like one popular app may be making it to Windows phones soon. Which app am I talking about? Well, if you read the title of this article, you probably already know.

What Is Snapchat?

For the uninitiated, Snapchat is a mixture of a photography app, messaging app, and social media app. You simply take a picture, do some minor edits such as filters and captioning, and send it to your friends. But wait, there’s a twist! Each photo/video you send can only be viewed for as many seconds as you wish, and after that it’s gone forever.

Is It Coming To Windows Phones?

While we don’t have any official word on a release window or specifics, it does appear that Snapchat for Windows is in the works. This is great news for anybody that’s been waiting for the app and having to settle for lower quality alternatives such as SnappingTalk and PhotographyChat. OK, I made those up. But you get the idea.

What Does This News Mean?

The good news is, as more and more popular apps come to the Windows store, the door opens for more applications to become available. Does this means someday we can finally get Angry Birds 3: The Return Of Squawky on Windows phones? Only time will tell.
